A Little About Me
My name is Derrek Christensen. Previously, I worked in insurance and financial services as an agent and stock broker. Getting licensed by large companies was eye-opening — it revealed both the strengths of the system and the gaps that real people face. Reinforced was the idea how a little information goes a long way. Everyone’s financial future deserves a conversation. Your unique philosophy should be a driving force in your future. I’m here to help make that conversation easier. It starts with understanding, and grows with intention.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Fiduciary?
As defined by Kaplan Series 65 LEM 12th Edition:
A person authorized, in good faith, to hold assets for another person and manage those assets for the benefit of that person.
This word is tossed around a lot. Professionals in the financial space are required to act this way. It just means they are in control of your money(investments) and have to make suitable, responsible choices on your behalf.
What’s the difference between a personal session and a group learning session?
A personal session is a one-on-one (or one-on-two) meeting where we can focus entirely on your questions, goals, and situation. It’s tailored to you—whether you’re just starting out or refining your financial strategy.
Group learning sessions are designed for schools, community groups, or teams. They offer a broader, educational experience where we cover key financial topics in a way that encourages discussion and shared learning.
Both are grounded in education—not advice—and the right choice depends on how you prefer to learn.
Do you offer financial advice during sessions?
No. There is a regulated, fine line in the financial industry about providing advice. Suitability must be discussed as your financial future deserves that personalized conversation. I believe knowledge can help you control your path.
How are the professionals you refer vetted?
I have met with each of the professionals I have listed on our site. I asked them about their philosophy and what type of clients they can help the most. Clarity around an advisor’s approach and level of involvement can lead to a more aligned relationship. We believe a stronger connection to your goals and expectations creates a better outcome. Each professional is independently licensed and regulated by the standards of their respective industry
Why do some sessions have different prices?
Different topics require different levels of depth and preparation. For example, sessions like Speculative Investing and Alternative Investments build on foundational concepts, which is why Philosophy Foundations is a recommended prerequisite. Pricing reflects the complexity of the topic, the level of preparation involved, and the responsibility we take in presenting that information clearly and thoughtfully.
